Ellen discovered painting during a “Creative Crisis” while her children were young. A psychic envisioned her painting flowers on ceramic pots, leading her to a painting class where she found her passion. She eventually embraced abstract painting and, largely self-taught, worked for years to find her “voice.”
“I love the materiality and physicality of the painting process, throwing my whole body into it. It’s important for me to channel my energy onto the canvas, communicating something beyond words, something emotional and powerful—my essence.”
Ellen paints in her home studio in Glen Cove and teaches Abstract Process Painting at The Artist’s Studio in Muttontown and The Art Guild in Manhasset. Her work has appeared on "The Good Wife" and "The Good Fight," as well as appears in many private collections in the US and Germany
