Works by Susie Frost
Susie is a painter working in West Barnstable, MA. Growing up, submersed in the Cape Cod landscape has helped to form her love of place. “Since childhood, I found wonder and beauty and the things that add color to my life. My work shows my admiration for what it is to be alive and surrounded by beauty whether it’s my favorite beach or the day-to-day activities that bring joy. Painting inspires me to share the things that sometimes get overlooked. The last flowers of summer in a pot on a porch, a simple walk down a familiar street, or the special things placed on a bookshelf or wall may be ordinary, but still so pretty. My paintings remind people of the comfort and perhaps humor of the things that surround us. I attended the Swain School of Design from 1986-1991. I currently attend the Fine Arts Work Center workshops in Provincetown MA and continue studies with artists I admire.” - Susie Frost
“To my mind, a picture should be something pleasant, cheerful, and pretty, yes pretty! There are far too many unpleasant things in life as it is without creating still more of them.” - Pierre Auguste Renoir.
